LUST FOR BLOOD:
THE IMMORTAL CINEMA OF BLOODSUCKERS & NIGHTSTALKERS
This winter, coinciding with the release of Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu, our cinema, in association with collective Wanderwelle, invites you to explore the sensual, seductive, and sometimes terrifying world of vampires—a realm where death is eternal, but desire burns brighter than ever.
Co-curated by Wanderwelle, this program marks their third collaboration with LAB111, driven by a shared fascination for the dark and eternal. Wanderwelle’s work often explores the eerie and liminal, mirroring the timeless allure of vampires as beings caught between life and death.
From the stately allure of 1931’s Dracula to the fevered passions of Jim Jarmusch’s Only Lovers Left Alive, this season examines the mystical elite that vampires represent, embodying both an intoxicating sense of power and a disquieting detachment from humanity. Their allure is not just in their immortality, but in the sexual and sensual mystique they weave, offering a dangerous but irresistible invitation into a world of forbidden pleasures. Featuring everything from the gothic elegance of Nosferatu to the twisted humor of Nicolas Cage in Vampire’s Kiss, each film presents a unique vision of vampires as figures who transcend mortal limits, reveling in their own dark desires. Join us for an unforgettable journey through cinema’s most seductive and sinister creatures of the night.
More dates per film will be added in due time.
