FILM & FOOD: MOVING (INCL. RAMEN)
We continue our Film & Food series, a bi-monthly celebration of Japanese cinema and cuisine, with gripping family drama and an unconventional coming-of-age tale Moving. Every second month, we’ll pair a comforting Japanese film with a steaming bowl of ramen crafted by our Bar Strangelove kitchen crew. A perfect way to warm up your evening—on screen and in your bowl.
Filled with indelible images, this beloved coming-of-age film from Shinji Somai is a poignant family drama that transcends the tropes of divorce stories to bring us an emotionally layered portrait of a complex teenage girl who encounters the unknown and refuses to succumb to it.
On the menu: A steamy bowl of vegetarian ramen featuring our house-made mushroom broth, shoyu-marinated egg, fried seitan and a mix of fresh vegetables.
The deadline for submitting dietary requirements is the Monday before the event via [email protected]. If you get your ticket after this date, we cannot guarantee we’ll be able to accommodate your needs. Please let us still know, we usually manage to make it work.
Are you unable to attend or does someone in your party cancel? Then you can cancel free of charge at least 72 hours in advance. If you cancel later than that, we can not give a refund.
