This August and September, we celebrate 40 years of Studio Ghibli, the legendary animation studio that redefined what animated cinema could be. Coinciding with the release of not one but two new documentaries about Hayao Miyazaki, and a brand-new 4K restoration of his masterpiece Princess Mononoke, our program brings some of the studio’s most beloved films back to the big screen.
From magical journeys and shape-shifting spirits to strong heroines and stunning hand-drawn worlds, these films continue to enchant audiences of all ages.
