Luca Guadagnino goes for something completely different after the tender and sun-drenched Call Me by Your Name, with a re-envisioning of Dario Argento’s 1977 classic horror.
Suspiria sees Guadagnino reunite with serial collaborator Tilda Swinton (previously cast in I Am Love and A Bigger Splash), who plays the artistic director of a world-renowned dance company, with Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades, Bad Times at the El Royale) perfectly cast as the newest young entree to the troupe.
Those familiar with the original should expect a less operatic and gory, but more nuanced feature. Those coming in fresh get ready for a bold and memorable horror from one of the most reliable auteurs in cinema today.
