The iconic classic returns to theaters in a 4K restoration for the first time since its original release, in its original theatrical cut.
The life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Tom Hulce) unfolds through the poisoned perspective of his contemporary and court composer Antonio Salieri (F. Murray Abraham in the role of his career). In his bitter recollection, Salieri describes how, at the height of his own fame, he is musically humiliated by the young Mozart, leading to an obsessive attempt to undermine his genius. Beyond its story, Amadeus is an exuberant sensory spectacle, where Mozart’s music, theatrical staging, lavish costumes, and the visual splendor of eighteenth-century Vienna fuse into pure cinema. The film won eight Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actor.
