IQMF: EXPO – Queer Gallery Exhibition ‘In Touch’

This exhibition takes place in the souterrain of LAB111 from April 30 to May 10.

Get In Touch!  For this edition IQMF is bringing to you a vibrant Queer exhibition celebrating connection, creativity, and community, in collaboration with Queer Gallery.

In Touch presents the work of 7 international queer artists from home and abroad.

In Touch explores how queer bodies are seen, presented, and read within the context of art, and how they relate to one another and their environment.

The participating artists are: Ame Blary (France), Henri Blommers (The Netherlands), Jasper Groen (The Netherlands), Marvel Harris (The Netherlands), Ohm Phanphiroj (Thailand), Prins de Vos (The Netherlands) and Vénus Visconti (France).

    MEET DE ARTITS

    Ame Blary
Ame Blary is queer and activist, and felt the need early on to translate and represent their peers and their struggles. Using photography as a medium, they explore their identity and articulate the urgent drive within them to advocate through an artistic lens. By deconstructing and reconstructing norms, identities, and alternative masculinities and femininities, their work quickly became focused on engaging with their community. They soon realized that their practice would be inherently political and committed. Their artistic approach stems from several observations, including the lack of representation of minorities and, in particular, their bodies.

    Henri Blommers
Henri Blommers is an Amsterdam-based fine-art photographer working in general analog, with a variety of cameras and techniques. He creates a refuge out-of-this-world dimension full of bold colors, based on contemporary socially engaged themes like plastics and the impact on our future, and digital influences on our lives, and is co-creator of Hello Gorgeous magazine fighting the stigma around HIV.

In his projects, Henri materializes the images by cooking film in plant material, soaking negatives for weeks in salt, or spraying agricultural chemicals on film.

    Jasper Groen
Jasper documents the way young people shape their identity. He has a specific interest in ‘tipping points’ in this process. Themes included are: the search for a place in society, peer pressure and the contrast between identity and appearance. He says: “I have a weak spot for those who dare to question themselves and who dare to be different from the grey mass.”

    Marvel Harris
Marvel Harris is a photographer born and raised in the Netherlands. Their deeply personal photographic work draws from their lived experience as an autistic, transgender individual who identifies as genderqueer, addressing ongoing mental health challenges primarily through self-portraiture.

    Ohm Phanphiroj
Ohm Phanphiroj is a storyteller whose artistic journey has evolved over more than 20 years through his travels and observations of the world. He believes in the power of photography and moving images. Through his work, he seeks to create and share his passion. If his work touches, moves, or unsettles the viewer, then he has achieved what he set out to do.

    Prins de Vos
Prins de Vos is a Dutch photographer and filmmaker. Their work touches on themes such as intimacy, identity, and gender. Prins’ first photo book Enclose (2013) was launched in photography museum Foam, and included a poetic introduction, written by Dutch author Arthur Japin. In 2022, Prins published their second photo book BOYS DO CRY, about Levi, who is an artist, poet, and trans man. In 2025, Prins’ work was awarded a World Press Photo award in the category Europe, Singles, with a photograph from their ongoing series On Hold.

    Vénus Visconti
Venus Aimé Visconti, a queer photographer born in Grenoble and living in Paris, develops an engaged and deeply personal artistic vision. After studying Fine Arts at Sorbonne University and completing training at the International Photography School Spéos, they create neo-surrealist works inspired by their experiences and the social dynamics surrounding them.

Since beginning their journey in 2018, Venus has explored themes such as identity, sexuality, and freedom, blending aesthetics with activism. Their time working in a sex shop deepened their interest in BDSM and gender issues, which are major influences in their work. In 2022, they exhibited a project on trans identity during Pride Month in Paris, reaffirming their commitment to bold and inclusive representation through photography.

    About Queer Gallery:
Queer Gallery is an international platform founded in 2024 by Dutch artist Prins de Vos.
The platform was created from a clear need: a space where queer artists are not only visible, but actively connected to opportunities, audiences and collaborations across borders.

Queer Gallery builds and maintains a carefully curated, global network of queer artists. From this network, we work with organisations, cultural institutions and platforms to develop exhibitions, editorial content and creative collaborations.
