A Family is de tweede speelfilm van regisseur Mees Peijnenburg met rollen van Finn Vogels als Eli, Celeste Holsheime als Nina, en met Carice van Houten (Game of Thrones, Black Book, Instinct) als hun moeder Maria, en de Belgische acteur Pieter Embrechts (Instinct, Stromboli, The Balloonist) als hun vader Jacob.
Gevangen in de strijd van de scheiding van hun ouders, trekken Nina en Eli zich terug in hun eigen wereld, verscheurd tussen loyaliteit, woede en het verlangen om gezien te worden. Vanuit twee spiegelende perspectieven ontvouwt zich één verhaal dat laat zien hoe liefde kan breken en toch de weg naar huis kan vinden.
A Family ging in wereldpremière op het Filmfestival van Berlijn en ontving daar de Special Mention in de sectie Generation.

Caught in the turmoil of their parents’ divorce, Nina and Eli retreat into their own worlds, torn between loyalty, anger, and the longing to be seen. Told from two mirroring perspectives, the film unfolds as a single story about how love can fracture — and still find its way home.
A Family had its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival, where it received a Special Mention in the Generation section.
