AMERICAN DREAMS:
THE VISIONARY WORLDS OF DAVID LYNCH
David Lynch, the visionary filmmaker and artist whose surreal and haunting works redefined cinema, has passed away. With American Dreams: The Visionary Worlds Of David Lynch, we’ll give you the chance to revisit the unforgettable works of a master storyteller whose bold vision challenged and expanded the boundaries of filmmaking. Starting this February, this retrospective celebrates Lynch’s extraordinary ability to weave dreamlike narratives with visceral emotion. Join us as we honor his remarkable legacy, a journey into the strange and beautiful realms of one of cinema’s most singular voices.
Renowned for masterpieces such as Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, and the groundbreaking series Twin Peaks, Lynch captivated audiences with his dreamlike storytelling, dark humor, and explorations of the subconscious. Beyond film, he was a passionate advocate for transcendental meditation and an accomplished painter, musician, and writer, leaving an indelible mark on multiple artistic disciplines. Lynch’s legacy endures as a creative force who dared to challenge convention, inviting us to explore the mysteries and beauty hidden within the shadows.
In accordance with Lynch’s wishes, and as we honored during our first complete retrospective of his films in 2018, his 1984 film Dune will not be included in this program.
