This March, coinciding with the anniversary re-release of The Man Who Fell to Earth and ten years since he left for his home planet, our selection, Sound And Vision: Remembering David Bowie, celebrates a performer for whom acting was never a sidestep but just another canvas for reinvention.
Music, persona, performance, and film were all part of his alchemy: he became Ziggy, the Thin White Duke, the alien of The Man Who Fell to Earth, each role a new constellation of identity. In Labyrinth, in The Hunger, in fleeting cameos and bold leads, Bowie shapeshifts across genres and moods, bending narrative and expectation to his vision.
