The Godfather: Part I

Francis Ford Coppola’s epic masterpiece features Marlon Brando in his Oscar-winning role as the patriarch of the Corleone family. Director Coppola paints a chilling portrait of the Sicilian clan’s rise and near fall from power in America, masterfully balancing the story between Corleone’s family life and the ugly crime business in which they are engaged. Based on Mario Puzo’s best-selling novel and featuring career-making performances by Al Pacino, James Caan and Robert Duvall, this searing and brilliant film garnered ten Academy Award® nominations and won three including Best Picture of 1972.

The Godfather: Part II

Francis Ford Coppola directs this Oscar-winning crime drama starring Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. It is 1958 and Michael Corleone (Pacino) has now fully embraced the trappings of a Mafia boss, leading to conflict with his wife, Kay (Diane Keaton). As he attempts to expand his crime empire, he thinks of his late father Vito (De Niro)’s rise to power in New York during the 1920s, but all of Michael’s attempts to emulate Vito and do the best for his family only pull them further apart. Both a prequel and sequel to ‘The Godfather’ (1972), the film was nominated for eleven Oscars, winning five awards including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Supporting Actor (De Niro).
