Hunt, het regiedebuut van Squid Game-acteur Lee Jung-jae, speelt zich af in 1983, slechts vier jaar na de moord op Zuid-Koreaanse dictator Park Chung-hee door het hoofd van zijn inlichtingenbureau. Wanneer in Washington een aanslag op de nieuwe president wordt verijdeld, komt de Koreaanse inlichtingendienst erachter dat er een mol in hun midden is. Het gebrek aan vertrouwen tussen het hoofd van de binnenlandse en de buitenlandse inlichtingseenheid, zorgt ervoor dat beide mannen onafhankelijk op zoek gaan naar de mol. De jacht verandert al snel in een onvermijdelijke strijd tussen de twee koppige persoonlijkheden. Lee Jung-jae (zelf ook hoofdpersoon in de film) weet met Hunt een intense en onvoorspelbaar regiedebuut neer te zetten, met sensationele schietpartijen en plottwist na plottwist. Hunt ging in première op het filmfestival van Cannes en draait vanaf 30 maart in de Nederlandse bioscopen.
After a high-ranking North Korean official requests asylum, KCIA Foreign Unit chief Park Pyong-ho (LEE Jung Jae) and Domestic Unit chief Kim Jung-do (JUNG Woo Sung) are tasked with uncovering a North Korean spy, known as Donglim, who is deeply embedded within their agency. When the spy begins leaking top secret intel that could jeopardize national security, the two units are each assigned to investigate each other. In this tense situation where if they cannot find the mole, they may be accused themselves, Pyong-ho and Jung-do slowly start to uncover the truth. In the end, they must deal with an unthinkable plot to assassinate the South Korean president…
