Moderator Kiriko Mechanicus will be joined by a special guest to dissect the film’s sharp political and feminist critique. Together, they’ll explore its radical spirit, enduring influence, and the ways we, too, can channel its anarchic energy in a world that still demands disruption.
Věra Chytilová’s Daisies (1966) is een levendig, anarchistisch meesterwerk van de Tsjechische Nieuwe Golf, waarin surrealisme, satire en visuele experimenten samenkomen. De film volgt twee rebelse jonge vrouwen die, nadat ze besluiten dat de wereld corrupt is, beginnen aan een speelse reeks chaos en vernietiging. Met gedurfde montage, opvallende kleurwisselingen en absurde humor is Daisies een radicale feministische uitspraak die gezag, consumentisme en filmconventies uitdaagt.
