We continue our fine art print series with a new artwork by illustrator Marilyn Sonneveld, who took inspiration from Anna Biller’s future cult classic The Love Witch.

In May we launched our very own fine art print series with a piece created by artist Floor Van Het Nederend. This October we invite another young artist who we admire to create a new original piece inspired by a cinematic moment of their choice. Second in our series is the Amsterdam-based illustrator Marilyn Sonneveld, who has selected Anna Biller’s future cult classic The Love Witch as the inspiration for a stunning work – to be revealed and sold on October 3rd.

About the artist:
Marilyn Sonneveld (1990) is a Dutch artist currently living in Amsterdam. She graduated from the Willem de Kooning Academie in Rotterdam. In her work she is focussing on the pressing issues around us. By making abstract and figurative drawings, paintings, screen and risoprints. Marilyn’s visual language is meanly colorful combined with organic forms who will show her approach on particular subjects (like sexuality and femininity) interwoven with emotions to provide a fruitful way of rethinking the future pasts, and the effect that we have on them. Sonneveld is the co-founder of Wipsite a novel and contemporary form of sexual education in form of animation and illustration.
