Cineville Speciaaltje: Return To Seoul

In association with Cineville, we’re happy to be part of a nationwide series of early previews of the beautiful new film by Davy Chou, Return To Seoul. The film will be screened with English subtitles!

Second Chance Cinema: Close

Our Second Chance Cinema programming for March gives you the opportunity to (re)visit a number of Oscar-nominated or winning films. Lukas Dhont’s second feature Close is a heartbreaking tale of boyhood friendship turned sour.

Expat Cinema: Saint Omer

We continue with our series of Expat Cinema – where we offer the best foreign movies with English subtitles. Alice Diop’s unnerving fiction feature is based on the true case of a Senegalese immigrant accused in the French court of murdering her 15-month-old daughter.

Expat Cinema: Inu-Oh

We continue with our series of Expat Cinema – where we offer the best foreign movies with English subtitles. Masaaki Yuasa’s showstopping animation reframes the classical performance style as a world of rock gods and cavorting dancers.

Fundraiser Turkey & Syria: The Wild Pear Tree

Following the devastating impact of the earthquakes across Turkey and northern Syria, we will be screening the beautiful Turkish film The Wild Pear Tree by acclaimed director Nuri Bilge Ceylan to raise funds for those affected in the area. All proceeds of this screening will be donated to a to-be-determined grassroots aid organization; please consider an extra donation when purchasing your ticket.

The Dude Day: The Big Lebowski

The Day of the Dude is celebrated on March 6 every year to commemorate the North American release of the movie The Big Lebowski in 1998. It’s been a while since we’ve last mellowed out with his Dudeness or El Duderino, if you’re not into the whole brevity thing, so it’s time to put on a bathrobe, pour yourself a White Russian (or order one at our bar) and join us to celebrate this iconic Coen Bros. classic.

Expat Cinema: Leila’s Brothers

We continue with our series of Expat Cinema – where we offer the best foreign movies with English subtitles. Iran’s Saeed Roustayi puts the spotlight on a woman driven to distraction by the indolent, incompetent patriarchy.

Expat Cinema: EO

We continue with our series of Expat Cinema – where we offer the best foreign movies with English subtitles. Life is seen through the eyes of a put-upon beast of burden in this beautifully photographed homage to Au Hasard Balthazar by the veteran Polish director Jerzy Skolimowski.

Club Imagine

Valentine’s Day: Hiroshima Mon Amour

For those who like to spice up their Valentine’s Day with some French Nouvelle Vague, we offer the chance to revisit Alain Resnais’ melancholy romance classic Hiroshima Mon Amour; a moody masterwork that delicately weaves past and present, intimate love and personal pain.

LAB Classics: Aliens

With his sweeping epic Titanic back in cinemas (sadly only in 3D IMAX) and the sequel to sci-fi adventure Avatar still dominating the box office, we’ve decided to give you the chance to revisit two of James Cameron’s bonafide action classics: 1986 ‘best sequel ever made’ Aliens and his gritty science fiction breakthrough The Terminator.

Valentine’s Day: Roman Holiday (70th Anniversary)

Celebrating 70 years – William Wyler’s iconic classic Roman Holiday returns to our cinema to coincide with Valentin’s Day. A sparkling Audrey Hepburn falls for a dashing Gregory Peck in this classic romantic comedy.

Valentine’s Day: The Before Trilogy

One of the most requested and suggested film cycles of the past decade is Richard Linklater’s wonderful three-part romance The Before Trilogy. To celebrate this Valentine’s Day we’ll give you plenty of opportunities to see all three Before films in the days leading up to February 14th. On Valentin’s Day itself, you can book tickets for the films in chronological order with plenty of time to share a pizza with a loved one between Sunrise and Sunset.
