LAB CLASSICS: STAR WARS EPISODE I: PHANTOM MENACE
(25TH ANNIVERSARY)
In 1977, George Lucas released Star Wars, the ultimate sci-fi popcorn flick-turned-pop-culture myth machine. It quickly became the biggest money-making film of all time and changed the shape of the film industry. In 1999, Lucas returned to the saga with the first in a series of prequels. This May, we fire up our lightsabers (and our nostalgia) to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Star Wars Episode I: Phantom Menace. Limited screenings!
Experience the heroic adventures of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. Watch the first fateful steps in Anakin Skywalker’s journey. After saving Queen Amidala from the invasion of Naboo, Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn and his padewan Obi-Wan Kenobi are stranded on Tatooine. Here they discover nine-year-old Anakin Skywalker, who turns out to be very strong in the Force. Anakin wins a Pod race and with it his freedom, as he leaves his home after the race to be trained as a Jedi. Our heroes return to Naboo, where the Jedi battle the dangerous Darth Maul. Only then do they realize, that the invasion is just one step, in the sinister plan of the resurrected power, called the Sith.
