A special, extended conference edition about the ‘act of art and performance’ and alternative ways to make ‘sense’ of our complex, alienating world.
Last ever Coded Matter(s) and final stage in the Worldbuilding trilogy.
Saturday 1 December
11:00 – 20:00
Advanced simulation technologies, algorithms and AI systems propel human activity into alien terrain and dimensions. At the same time – in the middle of an impending climate crisis – we slowly come to terms with the need to fundamentally reconnect human activities with other living and nonliving beings.
At Coded Matter(s): Sensing Beyond | Beyond Sensing, FIBER and Lab111 investigate the ‘act of art and performance’, and how it can present alternative ways to make ‘sense’ of our complex and often alienating world. Inviting speakers working in the fields of art, literature, science, design and digital culture, we examine the search for new ways of sensing, building and knowing the world.
