ALI ABBASI: THE APPRENTICE
From director Ali Abbasi (Gräns, Holy Spider) and featuring stellar performances by Sebastian Stan (A Different Man) and Jeremy Strong (Succession), The Apprentice is a scathing examination of the American Dream and a provocative portrayal of one of its most infamous creations, Donald Trump.
The Apprentice examines Donald Trump’s life in his early years as a real estate entrepreneur. It is during this period that Trump takes his first steps into the fast-paced business world and builds the foundation for his business empire, under the wing of his mentor, the influential and cunning lawyer Roy Cohn. This biographical drama is about corruption, deception and the drive for power in 1970s and 1980s America. The young Trump is played by Sebastian Stan (I, Tonya, Pam & Tommy), Jeremy Strong (Succession) portrays Cohn, and Maria Bakalova (Bodies Bodies Bodies) plays Ivana Trump. It is directed by Ali Abbasi, who previously directed Holy Spider and Gräns.
